Chelela Pass is located between Paro, where I landed, and the Haa Valley where I will be visiting my guides’ family for a day or two. It is known for the prayer flags which cover the hillsides. Remember that these are prayers which are to whip in the wind until the fabric is gone; the prayers will be part of the air. In utter silence except for the sound of the prayer flags, the effect is solemn and beseeching. I took a video so you can get the sound. I had the good sense to just stand there and be quiet.
